Born in 1950 in the historic pottery region of Yamashiro and trained under the celebrated master Kato Josui, Kaiho sensei has dedicated decades to the art of Kyoto over glaze painting (). His works are widely recognised for their gentle forms, meticulous brushwork, and a warm,
